MEDIA Delaware County Council approved a professional services agreement with Mid-America Regional Council for the implementation of a solar energy project.
The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) will provide assistance to the countys Planning Department for the implementation of the so-called Solar Energy II project. The total agreement is about $58,299 and MARC is providing $40,000 of the funding while the county is providing about $18,000 in in-kind services toward this project, according to county Interim Planning Department Director Linda Hill.
The county installed solar panels on the Sweeney Building in Media a few years ago. This project is meant to help the countys Planning Department develop permitting, zoning and other regulatory guidelines for local municipalities that are interested in implementing solar energy projects, according to Hill and county Executive Director Marianne Grace.
Council approved the agreement in a 4-0 vote Wednesday. Councilman John McBlain was absent from the meeting.
Council approved the authorization to advertise for bids for restroom renovations in the Government Center complex in Media.
Council approved the Central Tax Collection Departments request for four court ordered refunds for the year 2013 for properties in Marcus Hook, Trainer, Chadds Ford and Upper Chichester in the total amount of $1,332.
Council approved the reappointment of David W. Gallo Sr., of Springfield, and Norman Feldman, of Upper Darby, to the Delaware County Library Board for a three-year term ending in October 2016.
