exhibiting and speaking on several panels at next week’s Solar Power
International (SPI) conference in Chicago. The largest solar educational
conference and product exhibition in the U.S. is held this year at

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, CPF Chief Executive Officer Nat Kreamer will
participate in one of the conference’s General Sessions, “Exploring
Opportunities in Solar.” The session will take place in Grand
Ballroom S100, starting at 9:00 a.m. Central Time. This unique panel
asks industry leaders to switch places with each other and participate
in dialogue from the perspective of an executive in a different sector.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, Senior Vice President Micah Myers will speak on a
panel titled “The
Future of Net Metering and Rate Design,” which will take place in
Room 404 starting at 9:00 a.m. Central Time. This timely session asks
“What’s next?” for net metering and examines its potential evolution to
serve a variety of stakeholders.
Also on Thursday, Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives James Tong
will lead a session with Vote Solar and the Rocky Mountain Institute on “Industry
Collaborations to Reduce Soft Costs Including Permitting, Customer
Acquisition, and Labor.” The panel starts at 9:00 a.m. Central Time
in Room 403. Speakers will explain different industry-wide efforts aimed
at lowering soft costs and inform attendees about useful tools and

which hosts the free, community-based National Solar Permitting Database
(NSPD) that compiles solar permitting requirements from around the
nation into a single, intuitive online database. Solar professionals
will be able to view NSPD demonstrations and sign up to participate at
CPF Booth #1000. CPF will also present an educational poster, “SolarPermit.org:
Simplifying Solar Permitting, Together” on Wednesday from 4:30 to
6:00 p.m. Central Time in the Educational Posters Booth #4806. The
poster will share key findings of CPF’s 2012 study of 273 residential
solar installers, the largest known survey of installers to date.
